Before The Interview
Have you checked the company’s website?
Before your interview, make sure you’ve thoroughly explored the company’s website. Clients want to see that you’ve taken the time to understand their business and shown genuine interest in their organisation.
Have you reviewed the job description and duties of the role?
Familiarise yourself with the job description and the key responsibilities of the role. The client will compare these duties with your CV, so prepare to discuss relevant examples from your work experience that demonstrate your suitability.
Have you thought about the type of questions they might ask?
Think about the types of questions you might be asked and practice your answers. Preparing in advance will boost your confidence, which will naturally come across in your body language during the interview.
Are you ready to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills?
Make a great first impression by arriving on time, dressing smartly, and maintaining good eye contact throughout the interview. These actions show that you’re serious about the position and keen to make a positive impact.
Does the client know you want the position?
At the conclusion of the interview, make sure to express your interest in the position and highlight why you’re a great fit. This not only signals your enthusiasm but also encourages the interviewer to provide feedback on your performance.
After the interview, promptly contact your Malenia Group consultant to share detailed feedback. The client will value your perspective, and it will also help us manage the recruitment process more effectively, increasing your chances of securing the job.
During The Interview
Take a pen and pad with you
Bringing a pen and pad to the interview is perfectly acceptable. Taking notes during the conversation shows that you are serious about this next step in your career and are actively engaged in the process.
Have questions to ask
Prepare around six questions to ask during the interview. Even if the client covers some of these points, having thoughtful questions ready demonstrates that you’ve done your homework and are genuinely interested in the role. This preparation will leave a strong impression.
Don’t forget to close
As mentioned before, it’s important to inquire about the next steps in the interview process. This not only shows your interest but also helps you and your Recruitment Consultant manage your job search more effectively.
Send a follow-up email
If the client is interviewing several candidates, a follow-up email from you can make a big difference. Sending a thank-you note after the interview, highlighting why you’re interested in the position, ensures you leave a lasting impression and reinforces your enthusiasm for the role.
